Saint Kitts Confirms July 2027 Deadline for CBI Passport Holders to Complete Biometric Enrollment

Table of Contents

If you obtained your Saint Kitts and Nevis citizenship through the Citizenship by Investment program, there is one date you cannot afford to ignore: July 31, 2027.

Saint Kitts and Nevis has confirmed that CBI passports issued before April 14, 2026, will become invalid for international travel after July 31, 2027, unless holder’s complete biometric enrollment by then.

The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis has officially announced a mandatory biometric enrollment requirement for all CBI citizens.

If the deadline is not met, your passport will no longer be accepted for international travel. Your citizenship remains fully intact, but without a functioning travel document, your global mobility stops until you complete the process. The Citizenship by Investment Unit confirmed the full operational details on March 19, 2026. The enrollment platform launches on April 14, 2026.

What Is Actually Changing

  • Every CBI passport tied to an application submitted before April 14, 2026 must be upgraded with biometric data before July 31, 2027. This is a security enhancement to your travel document, not a review of your citizenship.
  • All data collected will meet International Civil Aviation Organization standards and be stored in encrypted systems accessible only to authorized government personnel.
  • The CIU has also not clarified whether late enrollment will carry additional fees. That uncertainty alone makes acting early the smarter choice.

Who Needs to Enroll

  • The requirement applies to everyone who obtained citizenship through the CBI program before April 14, 2026 — including all dependents listed on the original application.
  • Enrollment is required for children as well, following internationally accepted age-based standards.
  • Native-born citizens and those who obtained citizenship through other routes are not affected.

The Three-Step Enrollment Process

Enrollment must be completed through official government channels only. No third-party service is authorized.

  1. Register on the official Government Biometric Enrollment Platform, which goes live on April 14, 2026.

  2. Book an appointment at an authorized biometric collection center.

  3. Attend in person for a 15 to 30 minute session where fingerprints, a digital facial image, and an iris scan are collected.

Confirmed collection centers are currently located in Basseterre, London, Abu Dhabi, Ottawa, Taipei, and Rabat. Additional locations are expected before the April launch.

A New Era for the World’s First CBI Program

This initiative is a cornerstone of the Federation’s vision to transform Saint Kitts and Nevis into a Sustainable Island State. By introducing these advanced biometrics, the government is reinforcing its position as the “Platinum Standard” of the industry. This evolution includes:

  • Residency Proposed Framework: A forward-looking initiative designed to foster deeper connections between citizens and the nation through structured engagement.
  • Enhanced Global Cooperation: Strengthening partnerships with international regulatory bodies to ensure your travel document remains one of the most respected in the world.
  • A Commitment to Excellence: Aligning the program with the highest security standards used by the EU and the US, ensuring long-term durability for your citizenship.

Completing this enrollment is not just a compliance requirement — it is an investment in the continued strength of what you already hold.
