THE FEDERATION

Two Islands, Forty Years of Trusted Citizenship

Two islands. One narrow channel between them. St. Kitts is home to the capital, Basseterre, a working deepwater port, and plantation-era estates that now shape much of the island’s tourism landscape.Nevis sits quieter across The Narrows, smaller and hillier, better known today for its thermal springs and as the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton.

Britain granted independence in 1983. What followed were four decades of stable parliamentary governance under Commonwealth membership, English law, consistent policy, and no major political disruption. Tourism and financial services drive the economy today. The citizenship program, launched in 1984, has become a major pillar in its own right and the reason most investors first come across St. Kitts & Nevis.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

St. Kitts & Nevis Citizenship by Investment

St. Kitts & Nevis was the first country to introduce a citizenship by investment program, setting the foundation for every program that followed. More than four decades later, it remains one of the most established names in the industry, known for its long track record, structured due diligence, and international credibility.

Three investment routes are available: the Sustainable Island State Contribution starting from USD 250,000, the Public Benefit Option at the same threshold, and government-approved real estate from USD 325,000. The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) manages each application directly, with a strong focus on due diligence and compliance. That level of scrutiny is a key reason the passport continues to hold international credibility.

PROGRAM ADVANTAGES

Key Benefits of the St. Kitts & Nevis Citizenship by Investment Program

The World's Oldest CBI Program

1984 is when St. Kitts & Nevis started. No other country has been doing this longer. Forty years of applications, approvals, and passport issuances, that kind of operational history is hard to replicate.

Visa-Free Travel to 150+ Countries

155+ destinations: Schengen, the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Russia, Saudi Arabia. For investors operating across financial centers and emerging economies, that coverage is genuinely useful.

CARICOM Membership

St. Kitts & Nevis citizens benefit from free movement across 15 CARICOM member states, with the ability to live, work, and travel within the region without additional visas or work permits.

US B-1/B-2 Visitor Visa Access

St. Kitts & Nevis passport holders can apply for the US B-1/B-2 Visitor Visa, which is officially valid for up to 5 years according to the U.S. reciprocity schedule, though many applicants are frequently issued 10-year multiple-entry visas at the discretion of the consular officer.

Full Family Inclusion

Under the 2026 updates, dependent children up to 30 can now be included, with no education requirement; financial dependence is sufficient. Parents and grandparents over 55, and children with disabilities at any age, are also eligible.

No Personal Income Tax

No income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, or wealth tax. A clean tax environment for investors managing assets across multiple jurisdictions.

St. Kitts & Nevis operates one of the Caribbean’s most established and detail-oriented citizenship by investment processes. From initial submission to passport issuance, the full process typically takes around six to eight months.

Book a Private Consultation
01

Initial Consultation

UNO Capital reviews your profile, confirms eligibility, advises on family inclusion, and recommends the right investment route. A formal engagement is signed before anything moves forward.
02

Document Preparation

All required documents are gathered: passports, birth and marriage certificates, police clearance, bank statements, source of funds documentation, medical certificate, and passport photos. Every document is reviewed before submission. Your completed application is submitted to the St. Kitts & Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) through UNO Capital as your authorized agent. Direct applications are not accepted.
03

Due Diligence & Background Check

The CIU conducts a layered due diligence process; screening through international databases, independent background checks by external agencies, and verification of employment, business, and investment income. As a mandatory component of this phase, the main applicant and all dependents aged 16 and over must participate in a formal interview (typically via video conference) to verify their background and intent.
04

Biometric Submission

Effective April 14, 2026, all new applicants are required to complete the National Biometric Enrolment. This involves a mandatory in-person appointment at an approved global collection center to provide fingerprints and digital facial images before receiving final approval. UNO Capital will confirm the current biometric requirements at the time of engagement.
05

Approval & Investment Completion

Once the CIU issues an approval letter, the investment should be completed within 90 days of approval. Investment is only made after approval is confirmed.
06

Certificate of Registration & Passport Issuance

The Certificate of Registration is issued and must be collected in person at an approved St. Kitts & Nevis embassy, consulate, or on the islands. This physical collection is strictly required under the new 'Genuine Link' framework, which ensures all new citizens establish an authentic connection to the Federation. The passport application follows, typically issued within one month of citizenship grant. Applicants are also required to submit their biometrics at the nearest embassy or consulate before the passport is printed.
