Turkey Now Offers Same-Day Biometrics for Citizenship by Investment Applicants
Table of Contents
Istanbul’s Provincial Directorate of Migration Management rolled out a new priority biometrics procedure on 9 February 2026, allowing CBI applicants to complete both their residence permit approval and citizenship application submission in a single visit. What previously required two separate trips or an extended stay of up to two weeks can now be wrapped up in one day.
What Changed, and Why It Matters
For a busy entrepreneur managing a business across time zones, or a family working around school terms, that kind of scheduling challenge is real. Two international trips, or an open-ended stay in a foreign country, introduces friction at exactly the point where applicants least want it.
Under the updated system, applicants submit their documentation by email before arriving. They are then assigned a priority appointment, typically within one to two days, that bypasses the standard public queue.
Fingerprints are taken in a dedicated fast-track section, and same-day residence permit approval is granted on the spot, provided the file is complete and in order. The citizenship application can then follow that same afternoon or the following morning.
The Cost of the Fast-Track Service
The current rates are:
-
- TRY 44,000 (plus VAT) for the main applicant .
-
- TRY 22,000 (plus VAT) per accompanying family member
Turkey's CBI Program at a Glance
For those less familiar with the Turkish program, here is what makes it stand out on the global market:
- $400,000 minimum real estate purchase remains the most popular entry route.
- The property market is open. Unlike some Caribbean programs that restrict investors to pre-approved developments, Turkey allows purchases on the open market.
- A Turkish passport currently provides visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 110 destinations.
- There are no language requirements and no residency obligations.
- Turkey permits dual citizenship and does not require applicants to inform their home country.
- End-to-end processing from application to passport.
