Greece Introduces New Golden Visa Investment Option

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced plans to expand the Golden Visa program by introducing a new investment avenue focused on startup investments. This option is set to transform Greece’s economic landscape and build a startup ecosystem in the country.

The investment route will allow investors to obtain a five-year residency permit in Greece in exchange for €250,000 in investment in Greek startups. It presents a unique investment option for non-EU citizens to gain residency in Greece for at least five years.

The alternative investment options for Greece Residency are as follows:

Real Estate Investment:  

If you wish to invest in real estate in popular regions such as Attica, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Santorini, or an island with a population of over 3100, you must purchase a property valued at a minimum of €800,000.  

If you wish to invest in other regions of Greece, the minimum investment threshold value begins at €400,000.  

Government Bonds:  

Minimum Investment amount: €500,000 

The launch of the startup investment route for Greece’s Golden Visa marks a significant growth in the country’s economy allowing investors to fund startups in Greece. This initiative is expected to foster financial optimization through strategic investments.
