من يحتاج إلى التجديد؟

Adults and children with expiring passports
Passports that have expired, or are within a few months of expiry, should be renewed in good time to avoid disruption to travel or compliance needs. Many countries and airlines require a passport to be valid for at least six months beyond the planned date of travel, so leaving renewal too late can cause practical problems even before the passport officially expires.
Holders of older, non-biometric passports
Dominica began issuing biometric e-passports in 2021. Holders of older, non-biometric passports are advised to upgrade to the new version, which is the only type now issued. This can be done at any time, even if the existing passport is still within its validity period.
Lost, stolen, or damaged passports
A new application is required if a passport is lost, stolen, or damaged. The loss or theft must be reported to the Immigration Department in Roseau, the nearest police station, or a Dominican consulate before a replacement application can be submitted.
Changes in personal details
A new passport application is also needed if personal details have changed, such as a name change following marriage, divorce, or a court order.

Standard Processing
Two weeks from the date of submission, according to the official government portal and the Passport Office application form. This applies to applications submitted directly in Dominica.
Processing Through an Overseas Mission
Applications submitted through an overseas High Commission or consulate are transmitted to the Passport Office in Dominica for printing, then returned to the mission for collection or dispatch. This adds postal and handling time on top of the standard two-week processing period, so applicants applying from abroad should allow additional time when planning around travel dates.
Emergency Processing
In an emergency, such as illness or a family bereavement requiring urgent travel, passports can be processed almost immediately or within two to three working days. This is handled at the discretion of the Passport Office.
Lost or Stolen Passport Replacement
Replacement applications following a loss or theft involve additional steps, including a mandatory report to the Immigration Department in Roseau and a statutory declaration. A new passport is only issued after the necessary inquiries are completed, and a penalty fee applies in addition to the standard application fee. Allow significantly more time for this type of case.

خطوة بخطوة

Step-by-Step Dominica Passport Renewal Process

01

Check Your Passport's Expiry Date

Review your current passport well ahead of its expiry date. Many countries require at least six months of validity remaining beyond your travel date, so it is worth starting the process earlier than the expiry date itself might suggest.
02

Obtain and Complete the Application Form

Get the official passport application form (Form A) from the Passport and Immigration Department in Roseau, your nearest Dominican High Commission or Consulate, or download it from the government portal. Complete it carefully in block capitals and have the declaration section signed and witnessed by a Notary Public or authorized person.
03

جمع المستندات المطلوبة

Collect your current or expired passport, birth certificate, two recent photographs meeting the specified standards, and any other documents relevant to your case, such as a certificate of naturalization or marriage certificate. Make sure any documents not in English are accompanied by a certified translation, and that photocopies are notarized.
04

Pay the Application Fee

For domestic applications, fees are paid at the Treasury Department before submission. Present your birth certificate and marriage certificate, if applicable, to the cashier, then include the treasury receipt with your application. For overseas applications, confirm the fee and payment method with your nearest mission before submitting.
05

Submit Your Application

Submit your completed application and supporting documents to the Passport and Immigration Department in Roseau, or through your nearest Dominican High Commission or Consulate if you are based overseas. Persons living overseas may also send the completed application to a relative or authorized person in Dominica to submit on their behalf.
06

Track Your Application

Stay in contact with the office or mission to handle your application. If you submitted through an overseas mission, bear in mind that your passport will need to be printed in Dominica and returned to the mission before it can be collected or dispatched to you.
